Special Event: Annecy

Designed to advance the skills of professional stop-motion animators, the 4-week intensive course starts with 2 weeks at Foliascope Studio in France, followed by 2 weeks at Aardman in the UK.

The 2D animated mystery-comedy series, based on the books written and illustrated by Barbara Cantini, is slated to deliver by the end of 2025.

The series, based on the children’s books from author Paola Myriam Visconti, is set to premeire in 2027; the festival and market run from June 8-14.

The Nelvana co-founder and longtime kid’s animation creator will reflect on his 4 decades in the industry and explore the evolution, current challenges, and outlook for Canadian animation; set for June 10 at Mifa.

Festival plans include exclusive previews of ‘In Your Dreams’ and ‘Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85,’ the world premiere of ‘Fixed,’ a masterclass with Raphael Bob-Waksberg, and an in-depth look at the full animation series slate.

The ‘Full Nest’ episode of the non-dialogue, hand-drawn animated series will compete at the festival; the series launched in Germany earlier this year and has signed a number of international licensing deals at Disney+, Kidstream, and other outlets.

The visionary artist, known in part for his animation work in various music videos, will serve as Festival guest, and be awarded with an Honorary Cristal; festival runs June 8-14.

The event, which features a strategic partnership with the Annecy Festival, is scheduled for March 6–9, 2025, and will offer knowledge centers, experiential zones, film screenings, and professional networking opportunities for India's creative sector.
