‘Elio,’ ‘KPop Demon Hunters,’ ‘The SpongeBob Move: Search for SquarePants,’ ‘The Bad Guys 2,’ and ‘Zootopia 2’ among the nominees for excellence in production design, covering film / animated film, TV, commercials, and music videos; ceremony set for February 28.

The Best Animated Feature and Best Visual Effects winners were joined by ‘South Park’ and ‘Frankenstein’ in the Best Animated Series and Best Production Design categories at the January 4 ceremony.

VFX category narrowed down to 10 films, animated shorts to 15; voting for nominations runs next month, January 12-16, with nomination announcements set for January 22, 2026.

Academy members will vote to determine five nominees for best animated feature film award at the 99th Oscars; films also qualify for other categories including best picture.

Panelist lineup also released for upcoming event that runs November 17-19 at the Garland Hotel in North Hollywood, California.

‘Snow Bear,’ ‘Dragfox,’ ‘Playing God,’ and ‘Inside, The Valley Sings’ also take home wins; Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ named the Audience Award Winner at event, which ran October 24-31.

Running October 17-19 at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres in Hollywood, the festival’s 8^th annual edition continued its mission to champion animation as a cinematic art form, curating critically acclaimed international features and shorts that carry both recognition and impact.

AWN is now a media partner with the leading award that recognizes excellence in video and TV across all screens; submissions now being accepted through December 12.

The society also announces special honorees to be recognized at VES Honors Celebration coming November 7.
