The International Festival of Animated Films runs May 5-10, 2026, in Liberec, Czech Republic; submissions now open through December 31, 2025.
Each year in May, the historical town of Liberec in the north of Bohemia transforms into an epicenter of film becoming a leading showcase of animated films in Europe. Next year’s event runs May 5-10, 2026.
Audiences enjoy top animation which competes in seven international categories including feature films, games, and virtual reality and five national competitions including short and feature films, student films, series, music video, and commissioned work. The Czech Horizon competition places Czech films in the limelight, while the Anifilm’s short film category winners qualify to compete for an Oscar.
